The Laundry and Sewing Assistant position at Old Swinford Hospital offers a unique opportunity to join our team in a 20-hour per week, term-time role (37 weeks). This position requires strong sewing skills, willingness to undertake relevant training, and the ability to sort heavy laundry volumes. As part of our commitment to child protection and safeguarding, applicants must be suitable to work with children and undergo an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.

Key responsibilities include sorting large laundry volumes, loading and cleaning items in commercial washing machines, finishing items by drying, pressing, and folding, repairing boys' uniform and fix accessories, using a sewing machine, maintaining equipment and reporting faults, keeping the laundry room clean, completing required training, assisting in the Cleaning Department when needed, and performing other duties as required by the Headmaster, Estates Manager, or Housekeeping Supervisor.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £12,000 - £15,000 per year, depending on experience. A workplace pension is also available if eligible.
