About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at the Royal Surrey, a leading acute and community Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide consultant-level care for medical patients on the Acute Medical Unit, Same Day Emergency Care unit, and Emergency Department.
  • Supervise medical admissions, promote efficient patient flow, and develop ambulatory pathways.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise junior medical staff and allied health professionals.
  • Lead clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical trials and contribute to the development of our services.

Requirements
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine (GIM).

  • Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience.
  • CPD evidence of post-qualifying and continuing professional development in clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and/or research.
