Job Title: Technical Author

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with internal teams to understand document requirements and develop effective delivery strategies.
  2. Conduct thorough reviews of documents, including:
  3. Agree on scope and methodology with clients, sponsors, or technical authorities.
  4. Facilitate reviews and chair meetings as needed with document owners and subject matter experts.
  5. Pursue further changes or clarifications in line with agreed plans and update documents accordingly.
  6. Circulate updated drafts, solicit feedback, and finalize documents.
  7. Provide regular reporting at each stage to ensure progress is understood and allow for escalation if necessary.
  8. Ensure the quality of all produced documents.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Excellent written skills in English.
  2. Knowledge of standard Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  3. Experience working under tight deadlines.
  4. Demonstrable job coordination and administration skills.
  5. Ability to deliver high-quality documentation with attention to detail.
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  7. Teamwork and the ability to drive progress.
  8. Previous experience in the oil and gas industry.
  9. Proven working experience in technical writing.
  10. Ability to use plain English for faster writing and reading, and effectively convey messages across different mediums.
  11. Capacity to define process workflows and facilitate information gathering when required, making the best use of contributors' time.
  12. Effective communication at all levels of the organization, using different approaches dependent on the audience and purpose.
  13. Ability to make connections from multiple sources of information and be creative in approaches taken and idea generation.
