Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CAD Designer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical specifications for various systems, including Heating, Air conditioning, Ventilation, boilers, plumbing, chilled water, building controls, and other related systems.

Your primary focus will be on reviewing existing buildings prior to project design, performing site take offs, and assisting in the development of designs and technical specifications. You will also be responsible for coordinating system requirements with the electrical department, architects, and relevant authorities.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will be expected to conduct site visits and inspections to review progress of construction. You will have the opportunity to work on various major projects for internal and external clients, and will be part of a team that values work-life balance and offers a wide array of learning and development opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Review existing buildings prior to project design and perform site take offs
  • Develop designs and technical specifications for various systems
  • Coordinate system requirements with the electrical department, architects, and relevant authorities
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to review progress of construction
Requirements
  • College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 10 years in mechanical design and drafting
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, Smart Plant 3D/Smart
  • Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporate changes into AutoCAD files
  • ASME Code knowledge considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently
