About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Road Based Supervisor to join our team at EMED Group. As a key member of our secure mental health contract team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care and transportation services in Surrey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Performance and Service Delivery: Ensure the prompt departure of Ambulance Care Assistants from base, maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Compliance: Assist the Compliance Team with Health and Safety base checks to ensure compliance at all times.
  • Fleet Management: Liaise with the Fleet supervisor to ensure vehicles are suitable for road use and undertake vehicle checks to maintain optimal performance and hygiene.
  • Data Management: Ensure personal data management systems are up-to-date with all employees' details, ensuring accurate payroll and annual leave records.
  • KPIs: Support the Contract Manager with delivery of KPIs, providing innovative ideas for improvement.
  • People Management: Conduct probationary reviews with Ambulance Care Assistants in line with Company policy.
  • Employee Relations Support: Complete thorough and fair investigations prior to disciplinary, delivering a succinct and solid case to the disciplinary chair when completed.
  • Sickness and Leave: Ensure sickness absence is kept up-to-date and identify potential avenues for cover in the event of high levels of sickness.
  • Recruitment: Participate in recruitment and selection processes, ensuring personal adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Training: Ensure all areas of the contract deliver excellent patient service by delivering Annual Skills Development training and conducting driving assessments as required.
  • Ad-hoc: Conduct property risk assessments as required to ensure safe and suitable access for Ambulance Crews.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the workplace is safe for everyone by taking reasonable care not to do anything that might endanger you or others.
  • Diversity: Be an ambassador for diversity.
  • Hours and Environment: Be visible and maintain a physical presence across the contract.
Person Specification
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated, complex business, with an understanding of healthcare logistics (patient transport service experience preferred).
  • Passion for patient care and delivering a highly effective service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proven ability to engage at all levels within an organisation.
  • High level of commercial awareness with proven experience in achieving KPIs within a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach and guide.
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to multi-task and prioritise, as required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and use initiative.
