NX CAD Engineer Job Description

Cranfield-based automotive company seeks an experienced NX CAD Engineer for a long-term contract role. The ideal candidate will work on interior and exterior component design, managing CAD models and collaborating with project engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and model metal and interior/exterior trim components using NX CAD software.
  2. Manage CAD models in Teamcenter, ensuring all attributes are complete.
  3. Prepare engineering release packs and work under the direction of lead project engineers.
  4. Develop CAD designs from concept to finished model and produce finished drawings for engineering release.
  5. Support and investigate resolution of build issues during pre-production builds and launch phase.
  6. Contribute to cost-down activities on current production vehicles.
Requirements:
  1. Educated to HNC or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline with automotive experience in component design.
  2. Proficient in NX CAD software, including complex surfacing.
  3. Experience using Teamcenter and knowledge of metal and interior/exterior trim components.
  4. A working knowledge of component manufacturing and tooling requirements.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  6. A highly motivated and results-oriented individual who works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
  7. Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Working Hours and Pay:
  1. Monday to Friday
  2. 39 hours per week
  3. £27.00 per hour
