NHS Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine Specialist

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT is seeking a highly skilled NHS Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional to contribute to the development of our Acute Medicine service and provide support and leadership to nursing and medical staff.
This role involves ensuring high-quality patient care, supervising junior staff, and providing post-take for patients on AMU and senior review for patients in SDEC and TSS. You will also contribute to the on-going service improvement programme, developing GIRFT and CIP, and implementing evidence-based new ways of working.
We offer a competitive salary of £120,000 per annum, which is estimated based on national averages for consultants with similar experience and qualifications. Our hospital provides specialist, acute, obstetrics, and community-based services to 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, North Cambs, and South Lincs.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing rapid assessment of acute medical patients
- Stabilising and managing patients admitted with medical emergencies
- Carrying out post-take ward rounds during the week
- Maintaining effective communication and handover to the on-call team
You will also have organisational responsibilities, including teaching and training junior staff, acting as clinical/educational supervisor, and participating in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 or equivalent experience
- Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council
- Evidence of specific and broad training in Acute medicine and/or General medicine
