This role focuses on providing expert legal support to reinsurance business units across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, ensuring the successful execution of business initiatives while maintaining compliance with external and internal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice on reinsurance matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Manage legal aspects of projects within the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and improve legal templates, policies, and processes to optimize business operations.
  • Monitor legal trends and developments, conducting training sessions to ensure the team is up-to-date on the latest regulations.
  • Coordinate with and optimize the use of external legal counsel to ensure cost-effective and efficient legal services.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified lawyer (bar exam) in the UK or any EU jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, ideally in the (re)insurance sector.
  • Strong experience in reinsurance law, regulatory matters, and cross-border legal issues.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages such as French, Italian, Arabic, or Spanish are a plus.
