Role Overview

The Digital Preservation Coalition seeks a Senior Librarian/Senior Archivist to provide strategic leadership in digital access to the Library's unique and distinctive collections. This role will focus on maximising the potential for research, learning, and knowledge exchange locally, nationally, and internationally.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Develop and deliver a comprehensive digital library infrastructure, ensuring seamless access to collections.
  2. Lead the development of a digital access strategy and policy, identifying opportunities to deliver the University's unique content online.
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement a roadmap for collections discovery and access, aligning with system and service user expectations.
  4. Support and develop staff, ensuring professional standards and quality assured outputs.
  5. Establish and maintain partnerships with digital humanities professionals, leveraging expertise to enhance collection discovery.
  6. Represent the University at national and international conferences, promoting the University's collections and expertise.
  7. Contribute to the development of an engaged and effective team, delivering high-quality services to the University community and beyond.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the University's information landscape, combined with expertise in digital library infrastructure and digital access strategies. Strong leadership and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
