Job Description

Principal IT is seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, and driving technical excellence.

This role offers a unique blend of technical leadership and hands-on coding experience. You will spend 60% of your time coding and 40% managing your team, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with the CTO on client presentations and project deliverables.

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Fluency in multiple programming languages/frameworks and the full SDLC.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • People Management: Possess people management skills with the ability to manage, measure, develop, and grow a team.
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members, be seen as a technical expert, and champion best practices and effective standards.
