- First Level Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner qualification
- Experience in the perioperative environment is desirable
The Day Surgery Unit at the New Victoria Hospital is seeking a skilled nurse practitioner to join their team. The unit consists of 8 theatres, a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), a treatment room, and a 23 hour stay ward. The theatre sessions cover various specialties, including Orthopaedics, General, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Maxilla Facial, Gynaecology, and a Pain Service.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with the team to provide high-quality patient care. The unit promotes ongoing personal and professional development, and the department is committed to increasing capacity, which will require the successful applicant to care for patients with increasingly complex needs.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team. They will also be required to become Dual Trained and skilled in at least 2 areas of the unit, such as Scrub/Anaesthetics. Additionally, they may be required to engage in multi-site working within South Sector NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to achieve the needs of the service.
As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's pre-employment checking, evidence of current or predicted NMC/HCP registration will be required prior to start date. This post requires PVG Scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
