Job Details

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of experienced gas engineers and contribute to the delivery of safe and efficient gas services. As a Lead Gas Pipeline Technician, you'll be responsible for repairing, replacing, and laying new gas mains and services, while gaining valuable knowledge and skills through a Level 2 Gas Network Operations qualification.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Repairing, replacing, and laying new gas mains and services
  • Excavating in public and private highways for the laying and repairing of gas pipes
  • Using computer field systems to ensure accurate and efficient work
  • Achieving high standards of safety and technical competence
  • Mentoring and training junior engineers to develop their skills
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Motivation to develop new skills and grow a career within SGN
  • A friendly and approachable attitude when working as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A full and valid driving licence
  • Comfort with technology, particularly computer field systems
  • At least English & maths GCSE level 1-3 (or D-G) or Functional skills level 1 in both
