Working Hours:

Standard full-time hours with some flexibility required to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Purchasing Manager and the purchasing team in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and overseeing purchasing activities.
  2. Play a pivotal role in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, cost tracking, and supplier performance management.
  3. Collaborate with internal departments to address quality concerns and ensure smooth project progression.
  4. Develop and implement purchasing strategies and systems to drive cost improvements and support business objectives.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. At least 5 years of experience in a purchasing role within the engineering or manufacturing sector.
  2. Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and TS-16949.
  3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  4. Strong understanding of cost improvement techniques.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Proficiency in Excel and other relevant software tools.
  7. Flexibility to travel occasionally and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

CIPS membership or a business-related qualification is desirable but not essential.
