We are seeking a reliable and punctual individual to join our School Crossing Patrol Team as a Mobile School Crossing Patrol Officer.

The role involves working at various locations across the county, ensuring the safety of children and pedestrians while also engaging with the local community.

We require an individual who is approachable, enjoys interacting with people, and has good communication skills.

This position offers a retainer paid for 5 hours per week, plus duty hours worked, with holiday pay included. Mileage and travel time are also reimbursed according to ECC's Travel and Subsistence policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To have regard for the needs of people with disabilities and mobility impaired individuals when operating at crossing sites.
  • Regularly assess risks associated with crossing sites and report problems and defects to supervisors.
  • Assist in preparing reports on accidents and incidents occurring at crossing sites.
  • Maintain uniform and equipment in good condition and request replacements as needed.
  • Giving clear signals to drivers and ensuring traffic remains stationary until the road is clear of pedestrians.

Requirements:

  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle or ability to meet mobility requirements through other means.
  • Business insurance for use of personal vehicle during work hours.
