About Our Opportunity


We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nursing Leader to join our team at HMP Winchester, a category B prison located in the heart of the UK.


HMP Winchester is a male remand prison with a capacity for 700 inmates. As a Clinical Matron, you will play a pivotal role in leading our nursing team and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.


Key Responsibilities:



  • To lead and manage the nursing team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • To develop and implement effective care plans, ensuring the needs of all patients are met.
  • To work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • To contribute to the development of policies and procedures, shaping the future of correctional healthcare.

Salary and Benefits:


This is a full-time position, offering an annual salary up to £56,000 (dependent on experience) and a range of benefits, including a bespoke induction programme, competency framework, and regional and national career development opportunities.


Your Qualifications and Experience:


We require a registered nurse with significant leadership experience, preferably in a correctional setting. You must have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
