Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled lawyer to join our Commercial Law Team at Wakefield Council. As a Senior Legal Officer, you will provide legal advice and support across a wide range of interesting and varied legal work and projects in the areas of procurement and contracts and other commercial arrangements to clients across the Council.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients across the Council on procurement and contracts and other commercial arrangements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to inform advice and support.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery of services.
  • Work collaboratively with the Commercial Law Team to achieve team objectives and deliver high-quality services.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in law and regulations affecting the Council's commercial activities.

Requirements

  • Qualified and practicing Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
  • Excellent organisational, drafting, legal research and communication skills.
  • Flexible and innovative approach to work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
