Job Title: Team Leader - Children and Young People

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our team in Medway. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of social workers and personal advisors who work with children in care, care experienced young people, and their carers/families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and personal advisors to deliver high-quality services to children in care and care experienced young people.
  • Develop effective partnership working with other Council services and partner agencies to improve outcomes for looked after children and young people.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Council's Corporate Parenting vision for Children in Care Leavers.
  • Lead, manage, and motivate a staff team to ensure high-quality supervision, case management oversight, and timely decision making.
  • Allocate cases within statutory timescales to support positive transitions and ensure looked after children reviews and pathway plan reviews have clear objectives and outcomes.
  • Complete and review performance development plans for the team to enhance individual personal and professional development needs.
  • Effectively use team performance data to monitor standards and performance and ensure compliance with practice standards and procedures.
  • Provide high-quality reflective case supervision to social workers and personal advisors within timescales.
  • Contribute to the management of the staffing budget for the team by approving and committing expenditure within delegated authority.
  • Support the safer recruitment and selection of new staff.
  • Keep up to date with the Council's organisational policies, government guidance, legislation, research, and national trends.

Requirements:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with children in care and care experienced young people.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
