The Barts Health NHS Trust invites applications for a substantive Consultant Electrophysiologist with a defined sub-specialty interest based at St Bartholomew's Hospital. This appointment offers an exciting opportunity to join the wider Electrophysiology team and contribute to the delivery of world-class care.

Role Overview

This role will involve providing specialist care to patients, supporting clinical/laboratory research as part of the division's commitment to the goals of the Barts Heart Centre and St Bartholomew's Hospital. The appointee will be expected to be an independent operator for simple and complex ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, and be fully familiar with the use of 3D mapping systems.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake catheter lab procedures and manage outpatient clinics
  • Participate in on-call duties and lead a subspecialty service within the electrophysiology department
  • Contribute to research and publishing in their subspecialty field, particularly in cardiac device therapy and inherited arrhythmic syndromes
Requirements
  • Experience in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac device implantation
  • Strong academic background, including a PhD or MD submitted/awarded
  • Good IT skills and ability to use patient and hospital databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English

This role offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary of £145,000-£185,000 per annum, depending on experience.
