Clinical Forensic Counselling Psychologist Position at Crooton Ltd, HMP Elmley. This is a permanent, part-time role requiring 30 hours of work per week, offering an estimated annual salary of £55,755 to £62,504, including the NHS Rehabilitation Payment. The location is Isle of Sheppey. We are seeking a highly skilled clinical forensic counselling psychologist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, delivering psychological therapy assessments, formulations, and interventions in a prison setting.

This position involves supervising qualified psychologists, trainees, and assistant psychologists, applying the NICE stepped care model, and leading consultation activities with operational and clinical staff. The successful candidate will have experience of working with complex cases and diverse client groups, as well as maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Providing highly specialist psychological therapy assessments, formulations, and interventions.
  • Exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.
  • Producing timely reports on clients' progress and treatment outcomes.


We require an entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession or equivalent, with additional training beyond this level in a specialised area of psychological practice. Essential qualifications include registration with the relevant professional body and evidence of continuing professional development. Experience of working within a multicultural framework and maintaining high standards in emotive situations is also necessary.
