Facilities Maintenance Engineer

Magna International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Validate and implement technical solutions proposed by contractors
- Manage contractor activities, including buy-offs and off-site/on-site work
- Improve facilities and equipment to optimize performance and reduce costs
- Oversee external contractors engaged in maintenance and equipment installations
- Inspect construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
- Develop and implement a Preventive Maintenance Program (PPM) for building systems and equipment
- Liaise with Plant Maintenance and Automation Team as required
- Maintain HVAC systems, building fabric, electrical/alarm systems, lighting, and other assets
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and compliance checks
- Ensure adequate supplies and materials are available for maintenance and repairs
- Assist contractors with planning and oversight of PPM and reactive works
- Ensure the building meets health and safety standards and legislative requirements
- Promptly respond to employee-generated maintenance requests
- Assist with refurbishments, relocations, and office space management operations
- Assist with disaster recovery planning and emergency response coordination
- Comply with Health and Safety and Environmental Policies
- Ensure all contractors are signed in with the correct work permits
- Use and suggest improvements to Facilities equipment to improve performance and reduce running costs
- HNC in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or similar
- Time served as an apprentice (mechanical/electrical)
- Experience of working with Injection Moulding and Tooling
- Experience with using Microsoft Office
- Flexible with good decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Preventative maintenance techniques and system controls (CMMS)
- Experience of handling chemical processes
- Experience of Vision systems: programming and fault finding
