About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Specialist to join our team in a school setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent nursing skills, a caring demeanor, and the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing pupils and staff who attend the Health Centre, providing professional guidance and support to ensure effective and holistic treatment. They will also maintain thorough and accurate records for all pupil consultations, ensuring that assessment and actions taken are documented on ISAMS.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the pastoral, wellbeing, and safeguarding teams to ensure we are supporting pupils' psychological and emotional wellbeing.
  • Liaise closely with members of the boarding house staff and support pupils as needed.
  • Maintain medical records accurately, confidentially, and safely.
  • Keep nursing notes to a high standard, ensuring the accurate and rapid retrieval of information.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop individualised health care plans (IHCP) for pupils with medical conditions and make referrals for boarding pupils to the school GP or external agencies when necessary. You will also have good communication with other members of the nursing team, house staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best care is provided to pupils and that they are safe.

Person Specification
  • Ensure nursing validation and relevant qualifications and training are up to date to meet NMC registration requirements.
  • Demonstrate good personal skills in a caring, friendly, and confident manner.
  • Competent IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets and databases (i.e., ISAMS and CPOMS).
  • Able to work as an autonomous practitioner as well as the ability to work as part of the wider Nursing and Health and Wellbeing Team.
Holiday Entitlement

Saturday 8.00 pm with a 30-minute paid lunch break (9 hours per week) during term time (35 weeks) plus an additional two weeks (37 weeks total). Holiday entitlement is included in the salary for this role. All holiday is to be taken outside of the working weeks.
