Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Premier Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Coventry. As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative mechanical solutions for a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, and Creo.
  2. Work closely with the Design Manager to translate conceptual designs into working designs within budget parameters.
  3. Manage and oversee the work of Mechanical Design Engineers to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.
  5. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, technical drawings, and project reports.
  6. Identify and mitigate high-risk technical elements of projects to ensure cost and milestone targets are met.
  7. Provide leadership and motivation to the design team to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
  1. HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years' experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position.
  3. Previous experience in a similar role in an Automation or SPM environment.
  4. Proficient in 3D CAD software and MS Office.
  5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
