Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Officer will play a key role in supporting the Procurement Manager to achieve the strategic and operational procurement objectives of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council.
Main Responsibilities:- Providing procurement support, advice, guidance, and training to staff in line with relevant policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the management of the eProcurement systems and databases, including reporting of system issues and liaison with software providers.
- Approval of requisitions in line with Council-approved procurement limits and raising requisitions for centrally required purchases.
- Supporting Council staff to seek quotations from the supply base in line with the Council's Request for Quotation processes.
- Assisting with the management of the Council's Tender processes in line with the Council's procurement plan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for deputising for the Procurement Manager as and when required and assisting with liaison with Local Government Audit, European, and other Statutory auditors and external funders.
The Procurement Officer will be expected to work on their own initiative, deal with and resolve issues using personal and professional judgement, and judge when to seek guidance.
The postholder will be expected to be flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs and requirements of the organisation.
