Job Summary:

Protocol Education is looking for a Learning Support Specialist to work with children with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and SEND needs in a Primary School in BS37. As a Learning Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the SEMH and SEND specific needs, well-being, and academic abilities of students in a structured and adapted curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH and SEND needs in a Primary School setting
  • Work closely with the staff team to contribute to students' EHCPs and individual needs
  • Plan and deliver interventions alongside teachers to support student progress
  • Manage student behaviour and maintain a constructive and positive environment
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom and report any safeguarding concerns

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a school or supportive role
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to students' EHCPs
  • Ability to plan and deliver interventions to support student progress
  • Ability to manage student behaviour and maintain a constructive and positive environment
