School Maintenance Officer

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker to join our team at GSL Education. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the school premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee security and maintenance, including handyperson tasks, to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for students.
- Identify and report building issues, perform minor repairs, and oversee maintenance tasks to maintain the school's facilities.
- Assist in obtaining quotes, supervise contractors for quality and safety, and manage deliveries and storage of supplies to ensure efficient operations.
- Monitor cleaning staff and uphold cleanliness standards in all areas, including outdoor spaces, cloakrooms, and toilets to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment.
- Operate heating, ventilation, and lighting systems efficiently, conduct daily site inspections to ensure the school's facilities are well-maintained.
- Manage the school minibus, including cleaning and maintenance, and assist with the upkeep of school grounds to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students.
- Prioritise maintenance tasks, safeguarding, health and safety, including First Aid to ensure the well-being of students and staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a School Caretaker or in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to implement them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and problem-solving attitude.
- A valid driving licence.
