Job Title: Senior MLB Data Scientist

ZipRecruiter is seeking a highly skilled Senior MLB Data Scientist to join our team in London. As a key member of our Data Science team, you will be responsible for leading the development of models and supervising ad hoc analysis using various data sources to solve business-relevant tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement statistical models to support the development of sports forecasting products
  • Extract meaningful insights from sports data using sound mathematical and statistical principles
  • Collaborate with and lead other data scientists to propose ideas and solve modeling problems
  • Liaise with various teams to assist with tasks relevant to the modeling team
Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in sports betting/analytics industry in a quantitative or data science role
  • Possesses significant experience and passion for statistical modeling of MLB or NBA
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical modeling and machine learning, with experience in Python libraries such as scikit-learn, xgboost, and tensorflow
  • Experience generating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to explain model results
  • Experience with concurrent development source control (GIT) and familiarity with SQL and relational databases
  • Excellent presentation, documentation, time management, and communication skills
