Job Title: Rail Project Quantity Surveyor

As a key member of the Asset Management Team at Sembcorp UK, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in the commercial management of key term contract partners. Reporting to the Contracts & Cost Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will assist in the control of asset management costs and drive cost effectiveness across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract and cost management of multiple contractor's accounts
  • Act as an interface between contract partners and the business to ensure best value for money
  • Responsible for valuation processes, including reviewing and agreeing contractor applications for payment
  • Calculation and monitoring of key performance indicators to drive efficiencies
  • Proactive continuous improvement in the development of contractor relationships and contract arrangements
  • Cost and Value Reporting of maintenance projects, including providing accurate forecasts of costs to completion
  • Provision of cost to date and cost forecast data, including interrogation of the data to explain expenditure
  • Management of the change process, ensuring it is conducted as stated in the contract and timelines are adhered to
  • Preparation and submission of accrual data
  • Conduct regular site measurement checks and remeasurement to verify contractors' estimates and claims
  • Planning and leading contractor commercial meetings, recording and issuing any action logs/minutes
  • Preparing and conducting commercial audits, including close-out reports, noting non-conformances and recommendations for improvements
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of contract and cost management experience
