We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Operations Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management accountants in the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Main Responsibilities- Support the management accountants in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including the preparation and posting of accurate month-end journals.
- Handle bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and liaise with the management accountants on issues relating to the sales ledger and debt collection.
- Assist the Purchase Ledger team in matching invoices with purchase orders, inputting invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier statements, sending remittances, and dealing with queries.
- Provide cover at month-end and during team annual leave in purchase ledger and sales ledger functions.
- Cash posting for bank transactions, processing expense claims, and assisting in preparing documentation and schedules required for internal and external audits.
- Keep procedure notes up to date to ensure all processes are fully documented and support key activities and projects within the Finance department.
- Working towards AAT level 4 or AAT qualified.
- A high level of numeracy skills, minimum 5 GCSEs to include Maths & English to Level 4 or above.
- Experience of Sage 50 would be advantageous.
- Strong IT and MS Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, etc.
- A 'right first time' and 'can do' attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail.
