Moderator for GCE A Level English Language Exams

Pearson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Moderator to review centre assessments of candidates' work in accordance with agreed assessment criteria and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out moderation of parts of a subject examination, such as coursework, projects, and special studies, which are marked initially by teachers in centres and then sent to you.
  • Undertake direct assessment of school-based components in the subject where centres opt not to make initial assessments.
  • Complete and submit centre reports to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as required.

Requirements

  • Have one academic year's worth of teaching experience within the last 8 years and within the relevant qualification and subject.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent.
  • Be a qualified teacher.

Competencies

  • Have the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Have the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Have a high level of subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme.
