About the Role

BAYMAN ATKINSON SMYTHE LIMITED is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team in Merseyside. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in driving the procurement strategy and ensuring the delivery of high-quality goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve business objectives
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities, ensuring compliance with public procurement procedures and legislative standards
  • Design and implement procurement processes, including tendering and contract management
  • Review and analyze supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain procurement information management systems
  • Produce and manage procurement communications, including reports and presentations
  • Develop and review procurement policies, procedures, and strategies
  • Identify and support the delivery of corporate training and procurement initiatives
  • Review and improve procurement systems and procedures
Requirements
  • MCIPS qualified or working towards the final stages
  • Proven track record of demonstrating diverse and extensive procurement work experience within a multi-disciplinary organization
  • Extensive practical experience of working within public procurement procedures and accessing consortia frameworks
  • Good knowledge of UK procurement contract laws
  • Practical experience of driving the delivery of broader procurement initiatives, such as social value, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a growth mindset
  • Self-motivated and proactive with forward-thinking ability
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently integrate with the wider business
  • Able to identify, manage, and mitigate risks
  • Professional, personable, with a pragmatic approach
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize projects
