Chief Organisational Development Officer

The successful candidate will lead the transition from our current operating model to our desired future model, ensuring effective implementation and colleague engagement. This key project will be the primary focus for at least the next 12 months.
Following the development of the target operating model, the role will expand to include overseeing its implementation, culture, engagement, equality, diversity, and inclusion, talent, and learning and development.
The Chief Organisational Development Officer will provide specialist advice to the People Director and the Executive Board on organisational culture, employee engagement, continuous improvement, and employee wellbeing. They will understand the organisation's complexities, working with stakeholders to address organisational design and development challenges.
The role will also oversee all aspects of learning and development, working across Heads of Profession and with other departments to develop strategies that improve organisational performance and capability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement organisational development and design strategies and plans aligned to the organisation's strategic objectives.
- Lead cross-functional working to develop, implement, and embed the new target operating model.
- Provide senior leadership to the Organisational Development team, building capacity and capability.
- Partner with senior leaders to engage them in organisational development interventions and bring their teams on the journey of change.
- Develop and deliver high-quality capability programmes and activities to enhance leadership at every level.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement to enhance organisational performance and drive positive change.
- Develop and implement plans to nurture and develop talent for future leadership roles.
- Develop a succession planning framework for critical posts to maintain service continuity and effective leadership.
- Provide advice and support to Executive Directors and the Chief Executive to develop the senior leadership team.
- Develop measures and identify metrics to assess the impact of organisational development work.
- Create an environment that fosters growth, learning, and employee engagement.
