Framatome is a leading international company in the nuclear energy sector, recognized for its innovative solutions and value-added technologies. We are seeking an Academic Adviser to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing safe, reliable, and efficient nuclear energy solutions.
Job Summary:The Academic Adviser will play a key role in coordinating safety and quality activities within our Cranfield site, as well as liaising with other sites in the UK. This is an internally facing role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with the Operations team to improve quality, health, safety, and environmental performance at the site, including improving processes and reporting.
- Organize operational inspections, audits, and verification checks, and act on the findings.
- Ensure that Risk Assessments are written properly and staff read and understand them.
- Assist with the writing of quality plans for projects and overseeing their implementation.
- Coaching and mentoring site supervision in HSE practices, roles, and responsibilities.
- Assist with developing internal training and awareness, and delivering where required.
- Hold quality meetings and regular HSE meetings.
- Network within Framatome Ltd and the wider European organization to understand their processes and implement improvements to ours.
- IOSH/NEBOSH safety certificate.
- Understanding of the key attributes of nuclear safety culture.
- Demonstrable field engagement.
- Good knowledge of performance management techniques and/or root cause analysis techniques (FMEA, A-Z, 5 Whys, LEAN, Six Sigma).
- On-site experience of engineering, chemical, design activities.
- 25 days annual leave per year, rising to 28 days after 2 years' service.
