Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic leader to join our School of Engineering and Computing at the University of Central Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and contributing to the development of our Software Engineering programmes, as well as supporting the coordination of our academic team at the Preston campus.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computing and a proven track record of academic leadership. They will be experienced in delivering teaching and assessment within HE computing, particularly in the delivery of apprenticeship programmes. The successful candidate will also have a breadth of knowledge across the wider computing domain, with a deeper understanding of, and a developing reputation in, their particular specialism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the development of our Software Engineering programmes
  • Support the coordination of our academic team at the Preston campus
  • Deliver teaching and assessment within HE computing, particularly in the delivery of apprenticeship programmes
  • Develop and maintain a strong research profile
  • Contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive culture within the University

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Proven track record of academic leadership
  • Experience of delivering teaching and assessment within HE computing
  • Breadth of knowledge across the wider computing domain
  • Developing reputation in their particular specialism
