About Our Service

Capability Scotland is a well-established and respected provider of community-based facilitation services throughout the region.

Our service supports individuals to engage in employment, education, volunteering, and activities of their choice in their communities.

We provide:

· Wrap-around rehabilitation service for people with an Acquired Brain Injury

· Community facilitation service for people with physical disabilities

· Self-directed support brokerage and payroll service.

About the Role

We are seeking an Acquired Brain Injury Advisor to provide specialist information and advice to individuals, their families, and carers in the management of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), including assessment of needs, support to individuals with ABI, and practical support around inclusion and achievement of personal outcomes.

The successful candidate will deliver support via a flexible approach, including Self-Management Training Courses, online and face-to-face drop-in support, and home visits.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge and understanding of managing and supporting Acquired Brain Injury, aligned with legislation and guidance such as SIGN Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake holistic assessments of needs, including the identification of existing and new opportunities within the local communities
  • Signpost users to specialist resources, such as employment, education, life skills, and leisure opportunities
  • Deliver support via a flexible approach, including Self-Management Training Courses, online and face-to-face drop-in support, and home visits

What We're Looking For

  • Experience of working in a similar role and environment
  • Specialist knowledge and understanding in working with people who have an acquired brain injury
  • Knowledge of the wider health and social care partnership
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities
  • A care-related SVQ Level 3 or recognised equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Full driving license and access to a car
