Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Therapy Assistant to join our Medical / Elderly Therapy Team. In this role, you will support registered therapists in providing high-quality care to our clients, assist with therapeutic activities, maintain accurate records, and ensure a welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about making a positive impact on others' lives. You will be responsible for ensuring IT-based administrative tasks are completed on a daily basis and manage the provision of therapeutic equipment as required.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering quality care on the wards. Ideally, you will have previous experience as a Therapy or Healthcare Assistant, but we welcome applications from a variety of backgrounds.

You will be supported in ongoing development and training, and the role will involve taking responsibility for your own caseload and working alone at times. We are looking for someone who is willing to undertake relevant departmental training to achieve required clinical competencies.

Person Specification

Education

Essential:

  • GCSE Level or equivalent. Maths and English at C or above - or equivalent qualification/demonstrable experience
  • Willingness to undertake relevant departmental training in order to achieve required clinical competencies

Desirable:

  • NVQ 3 Level

Experience & Knowledge Require

Essential:

  • Detailed understanding of the role of a Therapy Assistant
  • Awareness of what is important to a patient
  • Practical awareness of issues affecting patient safety and risk
  • Basic understanding of Health & wellbeing
  • Proficient in computer use and IT skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in a care setting
  • Experience of responsibility for decision making

  • Possess a range of communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to keep accurate and legible patient notes or other relevant documentation
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and take responsibility for own workload
