The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is a global leader in the field of procurement and supply chain management. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement professional to join our team as a Category Manager - Engineering & Professional Services Procurement Specialist.
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for delivering value and providing a commercially competitive edge across both Professional Services (Consultancy, Legal, Audit etc) & Engineering related spend. This will involve end-to-end strategic sourcing, tender management, negotiation and contract management, as well as regional and international supplier and stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will have strong functional procurement experience managing categories across multiple geographies, including negotiation of contracts across technical, commercial and legal. Experience working with Professional Services & Engineering categories to drive cost savings, optimize services and reduce risk is also essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have good commercial acumen, understanding of the business context to make sound judgments and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver value and provide a commercially competitive edge across both Professional Services and Engineering related spend.
- Manage end-to-end strategic sourcing, tender management, negotiation and contract management.
- Collaborate with internal functions and regional/international suppliers to drive cost savings and optimize services.
- Develop, negotiate and performance manage contracts with strategic suppliers.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Strong functional procurement experience managing categories across multiple geographies.
- Experience working with Professional Services & Engineering categories to drive cost savings and optimize services.
- Good commercial acumen and understanding of the business context.
- Experience using SAP, Ariba or other procurement software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
