We are seeking an experienced Academic English Mentor to provide 1:1 support for young students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupil behaviour, learning, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver in-class activities that promote independent learning and encourage social skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to develop strategies for supporting students' needs.
  • Build strong relationships with students to help them re-engage with learning in a safe and caring environment.
  • Help students overcome feelings of failure by fostering a sense of belonging and success.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school or residential setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of complex needs, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
  • An enhanced Child Only DBS registration is required, or willingness to apply.

This role demands a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy background checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
