Job Title: Film Instructor

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified part-time film instructor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia's Brightpoint Community College. As a film instructor, you will be responsible for teaching film-related courses, including digital film editing and post-production, film production, and screenwriting.

Responsibilities:

- Teach film-related courses on either the Chester or Midlothian campus of the college.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the learning needs of students.
- Use instructional technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with full-time faculty to enhance the student learning process.

Requirements:

- Master's degree in film or a related field with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in photography/film.
- Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to use instructional technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience teaching film-related courses.
- Strong knowledge of film theory and history.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.

Working Conditions:

- This is a part-time position, with a maximum of 8 credit hours in the summer semester, 12 credit hours in the fall semester, and 12 credit hours in the spring semester.
