Ergonomics Specialist

The UCLH Clinical Education Team is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to support the delivery of the UCLH Education Strategy. As the Moving and Handling Ergonomics Lead, you will work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement a high-quality service that enhances patient safety and quality in healthcare delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the moving and handling ergonomics service, ensuring optimal development of the workforce and workplace environments to support reduction of moving and handling risks. They will also facilitate the provision of high-quality education and training to support delivery of safe patient care across the Trust.
Key responsibilities include:
- Effectively leading and managing the service and associated financial resources;
- Ensuring optimal development of the workforce and workplace environments to support reduction of moving and handling risks;
- Facilitating the provision of high-quality education and training to support delivery of safe patient care across the Trust.
As a subject matter expert in moving and handling practices and Human Factors Ergonomics, you will provide advice, assistance, and education on all aspects of moving and handling to all levels of the Trust. You will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date moving and handling policy and providing ward and department situated consultancy.
The efficient day-to-day leadership and management of the MHE Service is key to the role, ensuring a flexible, accessible, and sustainable service that meets the demands of the Trust. The post-holder will be responsible for continuous quality assurance and reviewing demand against capacity to ensure a service that is fit for purpose and delivered in accordance with Trust requirements.
As a senior role within the Clinical Education team, you will be required to undertake the responsibilities of effective line management leadership, communication, and coaching. You will work closely with the UCLH Head of Clinical Education to deliver the UCLH Education Strategy and support the development of stakeholder engagement and involvement in moving and handling ergonomics education and training.
