Pharmaceutical Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Pharmaceutical Care Specialist to join our team at Rowlands Pharmacy, Bellhouse Road branch. As a reputable and community-oriented pharmacy chain, we are committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients.
With a strong commitment to patient safety and well-being, the successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines. They will also provide medication counselling and support to patients, answering their questions and addressing concerns.
As a key member of our team, the Pharmaceutical Care Specialist will collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to optimize patient care. They will conduct medication reviews and ensure safe and effective medication management, maintaining accurate patient records and managing pharmacy inventory.
In addition to their clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in health promotion and public health initiatives, providing advice on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products.
To be successful in this role, you will require a strong commitment to patient care and safety, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team and independently. You will also need to be up-to-date with pharmaceutical products and healthcare trends, and have a flexible and positive approach to problem-solving.
We offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing to 32 days with length of service), GPhC fees paid, and a range of other benefits, including a performance-related bonus of up to £5,000 per year, company pension scheme, private medical insurance, and life assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines
- Provide medication counselling and support to patients, answering their questions and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to optimize patient care
- Conduct medication reviews and ensure safe and effective medication management
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage pharmacy inventory
- Provide immunization services (where applicable)
- Offer advice on over-the-counter medications and healthcare products
- Actively participate in health promotion and public health initiatives
What We Require:
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Strong commitment to patient care and safety
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
- Up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical products and healthcare trends
- A flexible and positive approach to problem-solving
Estimated salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per year, depending on experience.
Our Bellhouse Road branch is staffed with an experienced team of 5, including a Pharmacist Manager, an ACT, and x3 HCPs, providing an excellent service to the local community. We utilises our Medipac robotic distribution technology, freeing up your time to provide the care our patients deserve.
