At Team Jobs - Commercial, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Specialist to join our client's finance team in Bournemouth. This pivotal role will support the Finance Manager and Director by overseeing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and preparing detailed reports.

Job Summary

The Financial Data Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department. This involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and preparing detailed reports. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of the Financial Data Specialist include:

  • Budget Support: Assist in the preparation and updating of budgets to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Accounts Management: Ensure the accuracy and proper coding of financial transactions, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Debt Management: Address and resolve queries related to outstanding invoices, communicating effectively with suppliers and clients.
  • Reconciliations: Conduct regular reconciliations of supplier statements, purchase and sales ledgers, and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and accuracy.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform and review weekly bank reconciliations to maintain a high level of financial accuracy.
  • Payroll: Support payroll processing by posting relevant journals, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Fixed Assets: Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring accurate records.
  • Invoice Processing: Process sales invoices in a timely manner, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Year-End Support: Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise with the Finance Manager to ensure a smooth process.
  • Administrative Duties: Handle account-related queries from suppliers and clients, and assist with various ad-hoc tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the Financial Data Specialist will need to possess:

  • A part-qualified AAT or similar accounting qualification.
  • At least three years of experience in an accounting role, with familiarity in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality and empathy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all team members of the business.

This role offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 DOE, with a range of benefits including:
