Sales Ledger & Credit Control Clerk

Parke Lane People is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sales Ledger & Credit Control Clerk to join their Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for processing sales invoices, reconciling customer accounts, and maintaining good customer relations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing Sales Invoices: Submit invoices daily, using customer portals, management systems, emailing, and posting.
  • Reconciling Customer Accounts: Reconcile customer accounts, send statements when required, and maintain accounts within agreed terms and credit limits.
  • Assisting with Customer Accounts Reconciliation: Assist with month-end and other deadlines, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Contacting Customers: Contact individuals or business customers when payments are overdue, explaining terms and credit limits, and ensuring payment of outstanding invoices.
  • Reporting Old Outstanding Debt: Report old outstanding debt to the Team Leader and inform early of potential debtors' problems.
  • Handling Customer Queries: Handle customer queries, assist with discrepancies, and send copy invoices, credit notes, and other files.
  • Processing and Managing Data: Process and manage high volumes of data, using Excel skills to gather data and information.
  • Maintaining Customer Records: Maintain records of customer accounts, listing payment terms, contact details, invoicing instructions, and discounts if applicable.

Candidates should have previous accounts experience, preferably in Sales Ledger and/or Credit Control. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Good systems skills, particularly in Excel, are also useful.

On offer is a salary of £28k (depending on experience) annual bonus, benefits, and office-based work.
