As a Modern Apprenticeship in Road Building trainee at DYWICH, you will embark on a 2-year journey that combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience in road maintenance and construction. About the Role:
This apprenticeship program offers an exciting opportunity to kick-start your career in the road surfacing industry. You will work alongside experienced operatives, shadowing them and taking on more responsibilities as you become more confident in your knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a Surfacing squad, undertaking road maintenance, road and footway surfacing, and other ancillary activities.
- Perform banksman duties for items of plant and delivery vehicles.
- Manual placement of asphalt materials, including shovelling, barrowing, and raking.
- Operate items of plant, such as pavers, rollers, tractors, etc., and hand-held items like saws and breakers.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified driver (optional).
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Genuine interest in the road surfacing field.
- Versatile, flexible, and accommodating worker.
- Trustworthy, friendly, timely, and reliable.
