The Role

We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you'll work with clients to design, build, and maintain scalable and reusable data solutions. You'll use software engineering best practices to deliver business value and help clients gain insights from their data.

Our Data Engineers are specialist software engineers who combine the discipline of software engineering with the knowledge and experience of building data solutions. You'll work in a fast-paced, agile environment with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver modern data platforms into large organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable and reusable data solutions
  • Work with clients to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that meet those needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver modern data platforms
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in data engineering
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Experience with coding best practices and design patterns
  • Experience with code and data versioning, dependency management, code quality and optimization, error handling, logging, monitoring, validation, and alerting
  • Experience with writing well-tested object-oriented Python
  • Good understanding of design choices for data storage and data processing, with a particular focus on cloud data services
  • Experience with programmatically deploying, scheduling, and monitoring components in a workflow
  • Experience with writing complex queries against relational and non-relational data stores
