Job Description

Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant - Peripatetic Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our Behaviour Support Service as a peripatetic Behaviour Support Assistant. The successful candidate will work alongside school staff to support children who are at risk of exclusion, developing the knowledge and skills of staff to promote inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the inclusion of children in schools through the development of strategies for behaviour and the implementation of the SEN Code of Practice and Exclusion guidance.
  • Work with Behaviour Support Teachers, school staff, and other professionals to develop a suitable programme of support for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Contribute to the development of resources for schools to use with children and deliver training to school staff.
  • Liaise with Behaviour Support Teachers and school staff to ensure the effective implementation of behaviour support strategies.

Requirements:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of a variety of strategies for behaviour and their implications for schools.
  • Understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and Exclusion guidance.
  • Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Ability to work effectively with Behaviour Support Teachers, school staff, and other professionals.
