An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join MBDA UK Ltd. This role offers a chance to drive excellence and innovation in our manufacturing processes, working on ambitious projects and collaborating with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the industrial validation process, ensuring the implementation of FMEAs and process proving activities.
  • Manage configuration control, embodying design modifications into Manufacturing documentation and industrial validation.
  • Support Senior Manufacturing Engineers in their day-to-day technical role, ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing area.
  • Define manufacturing architecture to operate lean principles, compiling business cases for process improvements and factory of the future concepts.
  • Assume responsibilities for safe operating implementation for changed processes, liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE, and Human factors.
  • Interface with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase to ensure optimised Design for Manufacture (DfM) or in the production phase for change implementation.
  • Lead the team in ensuring updates of Manufacturing Instructions and maintenance of production BOMs on time and in line with the master production schedule (MPS).

Requirements:

  • Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3.
  • Formal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject OR BEng in a relevant Engineering Degree.
  • Be a recognised point of contact for manufacturing enquiries through the deployed team.
  • Ability to interpret Design Drawings to produce Manufacturing Build Instructions.
  • Awareness of digital communication platforms to work and communicate effectively within the workplace.
