Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team in North Somerset. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and Challenging Behaviours to succeed in their academic and personal development.

About the Role:
  • Support students with SEMH and Challenging Behaviours in a KS2/ KS3 / KS4 setting
  • Work closely with the classroom teacher and fellow support staff to ensure students receive the support they need
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, creating engaging and interactive learning activities
  • Encourage students to develop their social skills and build positive relationships with others
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive and empathetic approach to working with children
  • A commitment to consistent and effective support
  • A willingness to work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the school
