About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Magna International Inc. as a Senior Embedded Software Solutions Architect, where you will be responsible for leading the development of embedded software solutions for mobile robotics and automation.

In this role, you will champion best practices in embedded software engineering, ensuring modularity, scalability, reliability, and industry standards. You will contribute to the advancement of real-time operating systems and device drivers, optimizing performance and efficiency.

You will work closely with project teams to establish product requirements and software specifications, design, code, test, review, and document embedded software/firmware. Your expertise in unit testing and on-target testing will ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Requirements
  • A Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree, or Equivalent Experience, with 7 years of embedded software experience.
  • 5+ years of software design and development experience, preferably in Robotics, Automotive or Industrial.
  • Proficiency in C, C++ and C# with expertise in real-time operating systems and microcontroller units (MCUs).
  • Expert debugging skills using in-circuit emulators, debuggers, oscilloscopes, electrical schematics.
  • Experience in customizing Linux operating systems for robotics and near real-time operation.
  • Fluency in UML for Object-Oriented Analysis/Design, including state machines.
  • Working knowledge of industrial protocols including CAN, TCP/IP, Ethernet.
