We are partnering with a local authority in the South of England to find a skilled Highways Inspector. This role will be offered initially on a 6-month basis at a rate of £30 per hour, with the understanding that it falls within the IR35 guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough safety inspections, including addressing complaints, to ensure the council meets its obligations under the Highways Act 1980 and maintains a valid Section 58 defence.
- Verify adherence to quoted works, quality, and safe working practices, as well as the implementation of appropriate Traffic Management, potentially identifying other defects on the network.
- Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT, and be self-motivated to work to the highest standards, prioritizing their workload effectively. Collaboration is essential, and the ability to support colleagues while receiving support in return is crucial.
