Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at Dunbar Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils in a Primary School setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities, ensuring a positive and engaging classroom experience for pupils.
  • Provide one-on-one support to pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN), to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources, ensuring a well-organized and effective learning environment.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development among pupils.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform instruction and improve outcomes.
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils, helping them to develop essential life skills and values.
  • Supervise pupils during break times and school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and child development.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their educational journey.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a basic understanding of child development and educational practices.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
